Alec R. Costandinos, Alexandre Kouyoumdjiam, disco music producer born in Cairo in 1944, of an Armenian father and a Greek mother. He arrived in Paris at the age of 22 after a stay in Australia. Before becoming one of the most famous Euro-disco producers, he began his career as a producer for French artists (Dalida, Claude François). After having co-written “Love in C Minor” with Cerrone in 1976, he signed an album Love and Kisses on the French label Barclay in 1977, with a disco hit “I’ve Found Love (Now That I’ve Found You)”. He will sign other albums on the American label of Neil Bogart, Casablanca Records, with in 1977 the album “Sphinx”, then “Sumeria”, “Golden Tears”. It will be one of the first to introduce the concept-album with “Romeo & Juliet”, an album produced in 1977. From 1977 to 1979 in the Trident studios in London, he produced many titles, with pieces of more than 15 minutes. He will be best known for the songs “I’ve Found Love,” “Romeo and Juliet,” and “Thank God It’s Friday.”
